Subject: Delta Plains Corridor

I am an Oklahoma landowner and vehemently OPPOSE the proposed NIETC 4-18 mile wide corridor through Payne County, OK and the recent designation of $306 million to Cimarron Link to construct this corridor.

Please STOP this plan and REMOVE Oklahoma from the proposed Delta Plains high voltage transmission corridor.

Letter to Congressman Template

To: Congressman ______________:

I / We are requesting that you support constituent property rights by co-authoring and supporting H.R. 9527, Protecting our Land from Federal Overreach Act of 2024.

The bill 1) bans federal funds from being used to condemn private property for electric transmission lines, and 2) prohibits FERC from using its authority to overrule a state regulator that has rejected an electric transmission project.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

Letter to Senator/Representative Template

Feel free to personalize as needed to let them know how this will affect you personally.

Dear Senator/Representative xxxx:

This letter is to inform you of my complete opposition to DOE National Interest Electric Corridor Project and specifically the Delta Plains NIECP set to run through Oklahoma and to request your assistance. The DOE’s intention is to create a massive corridor 4-18 miles wide in the Delta Plains NIECP that would run through our land in Payne County.

Nobody should have the right to use our property to benefit non-competitive private partners of the federal government. Nobody should have the right to use my property to provide electricity to consumers in other states without my consent and without any benefit to our community or state. I understand that farmers and landowners should have the right to use their property as they desire, including wind turbines and solar panels, but these rights should not be more important than mine.  And these ‘green energy sources’ should not receive incentives that artificially alter the economics of the energy source.

As a constituent and a property owner, I ask for your assistance in reigning in this project and to support private property rights for your constituents. Please do not hesitate to call or email me to discuss further.

Respectfully,

[Your Name]

4

Email to Land Commissioners
[Governor, Lt. Governor, Sec of Education, State Auditor, Sec of Agriculture (email addresses above)]

Subject: Land Commission Representation

As a constituent, and property owner, in your roles as land commissioners, I strongly encourage you to oppose (not approve) so-called 'green projects': wind turbines, solar panels, and associated high-capacity transmission lines. School land as a perpetual asset should not be sacrificed for a supposed relative 'short-term gain' (even 10 years is short-term compared to perpetual) and the gains even if contractual are often overstated, with numerous projects having a history of renegotiating or reneging on contractual obligations and/or filing for bankruptcy. Further studies show that these projects reduce property values by up to 50% or more. In addition, it also devalues adjacent properties, which is not something that state representatives should be involved in, rather they should be helping to support property rights and values.

Respectfully,

[Your Name]
